A third generation hair professional, Gwenn has had extensive core and advanced training at Aveda's Horst Education Center in Minneapolis. Combined with her practical salon experience and knowledge of Aveda products, methods and philosophy, Gwenn is one of the most sought-after hair professionals in Manhattan. While apprenticing under Horst Rechelbacher (founder of Aveda), Gwenn traveled throughout the United States and Canada, aiding demonstrations and performing technical work for hair shows and photo sessions.

Beyond hair Gwenn, and thus Parlor, are serious patrons of the arts and are dedicated to encourage patronage in others. That's why at Parlor you will see rotating paintings, photographs and other pieces of art that Gwenn has allowed to be displayed by local artists for sale or to just be admired and discussed.

A master of hair and makeup, Gwenn's clients regularly travel from as far as Los Angeles, Canada, Turkey and Singapore to get coiffed. She is proud of her incredible attention to detail and her ability to figure out a client's needs even if they find it difficult to put their desired style into words.

Gwenn specializes in nervous, detail-oriented, meticulous clients and her favorite client is the busy professional woman and hip mother, like herself. She enjoys the world of hair color as much as haircutting and her coloring skills range from the ability to produce a dramatic edgy punk look to simply enhancing a client¹s natural color with a barely seen fine highlight. This maestro of color has transformed many hair disasters. She has also styled the hair of Adele, The Jonas Brothers, Genevieve Gorder, Molly Ringwald, Ali Sheedy, Twyla Tharp, Jane Atchison, Rue McLanahan and many more entertainment luminaries.
